He was known as Mang Fedy at the Rizal Memorial Swimming Pool where he coached the Far Eastern University Swimming Team.  Haydee Coloso, Gertrudes Lozada, Victoria Cagayat, Ulpiano Babol, Bert Lozada, Ressie Neric, Jean Belzer, Hedy Garcia and Susan Papa were among his prodigies.

At the Manila Polo Club and the Army and Navy Club where he was casually called "Freddy"  by hundreds of children, scions of Manila's affluent families.  The last children he taught swimming were his own grandchildren:  Joselina, Miguel and Caridad.  Here is the proud grandfather with his apo eating a galletas de patatas.

Lola Pacing

Behind is her piano.  She plays Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven and Debussy very well.
On May 25, 2005, her grand-daughter Carina Cruz Salonga treated her to breakfast at the Manila Hotel.  A few of Lola Pacing's friends also attended the party.
This was the time when Lolo Fedy would bring her out of town during weekends to swim at Pansol or Noninos.
